Guitarists

Continuing on my road to guitar self-education, I thought this would be a fun song to learn. The intro riff and part during the chorus is sure fun to play. Well, turns out the lead parts were quite a bit more difficult than I had anticipated. But I stuck with it and finally am able to futz my way though them. Practice and perseverance does pay off.

Me playing along to I’m Yours by Jason Mraz.

This is my third song that I can play. It was requested by a friend of mine’s daughter. I’d never heard of this Mraz fellow before, but I have to say it’s a catchy tune. Pretty easy progression: B, F#, G#min, E. I’ve watched others play the chords in various positions – this is just the way that felt good to me. I think Mraz also plays it in A live.

The little run-down progression is just slightly different – B, G#min, F#, E with a C#7 on the end.

Guitar is my OLP MM1FR. Amp is an Epiphone Valve Jr. I also used my ZOOM G7.1ut board for a bit of reverb and chorus – otherwise it’s pretty clean.
